This course is designed to enable building owners to participate more knowledgably as members of a LEED® certification project commissioning team. It provides a systematic review of the mandatory and elective commissioning credit requirements for LEED for New Construction and Major Renovations projects, and the elective credit requirements available for LEED for Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance.
This course reviews the requirements of the LEED v3 Energy & Atmosphere credit. Information about requirements for New Construction projects, which includes both fundamental and enhanced commissioning, is presented for each phase of the commissioning process. These are followed by a section that reviews each of the three commissioning credits available for Existing Buildings projects. |

Upon completion of this course the learner will be able to
- Describe the role and benefits of commissioning in achieving LEED® credit in the Energy & Atmosphere category.
- Explain the benefits of commissioning a building to receive Energy & Atmosphere credit.
- Effectively select a Commissioning Authority.
- List requirements for both Enhanced and Fundamental Commissioning for New Construction by commissioning phase.
- List requirements for the Existing Building Energy and Atmosphere category credits.
